Clients – Departments of Defence and Industry, Innovation & Science
The Government released the Defence Industry Policy Statement (DIPS) in 2016 as a companion document to the Defence White Paper. The DIPS set out a range of policy initiatives to reset the relationship between Defence and industry, to establish industry as a Fundamental Input into Capability and to transform the way Defence approaches innovation.
The delivery of certain DIPS initiatives needed to be managed through an integrated project management arrangement between the Dept. of Defence (Defence) and the Industry, Innovation & Science (DIIS).
CAPDA’s senior consultant was engaged as the primary integrator for these projects, delivering the Centre for Defence Industry Capability (CDIC), Defence Innovation Portal and the Defence Innovation Hub.
David has responsibility for the governance, reporting, scheduling, risk management, assurance and change management for these initiatives. He works across DIIS and Defence to coordinate the delivery teams and the cross-agency FAS-level project steering group.
Enterprise architect & change manager
David has led the design of the CDIC organisation and workforce, facilitating staff workshops and developing the Concept of Operations document. He is also the primary interface between the project’s strategic communications team and DIIS, and between the business and the web developers responsible for developing the new CDIC website and Defence Innovation Portal.
Outcomes & Value Delivered
The CDIC and Innovation Hub commenced operations in the latter part of 2016.
